Today I wsa sitting having lunch in a cafe in Milton and kept on being bothered by the people at the table across from me. At first I thought that the older guy was pitching a product to a couple, then I guessed that he was pitching a “business opportunity”. By the end of my lunch, the woman had added in a few comments including a reference to getting a piece of the growing telecoms industry action coming out of China, and I realised that she was pitching too.
By this stage, and keep in mind that I was reading a magazine at the time and only catching snippets of sentences as they drifted my way, I had the distinct sense that some kind of multi-level marketing scheme might be on offer. Curiosity piqued, I went back to the office and Googled: ACN mobile phone
Hit number two http://www.ratbags.com/rsoles/comment/acn.htm told me all I needed to know. Summary, if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and you don’t like duck, then even if the Full Federal Court of Australia overturns the Federal Court on appeal and says that it isn’t duck, then you’re still probably best not to eat it.
