Sergey Dmitriev (CEO if JetBrains, makers of the IntelliJ IDE) explains what our Pegamento project has been all about for the last few years.
Specifically, he talks of the need for a DSL for defining language structure (we use IBM’s EMF which is very similar to (E)MOF 2.0), a DSL for concrete syntax (we have HUTN as a generic form), a DSL for visual/graphical syntax (we have the JANE project), and most importantly, a transformation language for which we have Tefkat which is based on our submission to the OMG’s QVT RFP.
He also points to Xactium, Andy Evans and co’s company that has what could be interesting products in the space. In particular, I’ll be looking at their transformation language XMap to see how it compares to ours.
